James C. Keller

Mirror Glass

Three eyes; mirror glass, a gaping maw of light,
synthetic photons, electromagnetic heat,
off cone, neuron, dopamine receptor,
envisaging reality within; reality
without, it is a dream, once upon a time,
deeper than the ocean, heavenly, haunting:
let us out, absorbing our souls
into your neon pit, to anguish, to hide,
to despair, to never be free,
to regress and shrink
until there is nothing left,
only the screen,
and me.
